FAQs - Markilux 1710 Awning

The Markilux 1710 features a cover cassette design that allows the fabric to retract neatly into the cassette, keeping it protected. However, the internal mechanisms remain exposed. To conceal the folding arms, a valance can be added as an optional feature. This adds a touch of elegance while enhancing the awning's functionality.
The Markilux 1700 and 1710 models have a few distinguishing features. The Markilux 1710 includes a cover cassette that protects the fabric when retracted, while the Markilux 1700 is an open awning without a cassette, leaving the fabric exposed to the elements even when rolled up. Therefore, installing the Markilux 1700 in sheltered areas, such as beneath a ceiling is especially advisable.
The Markilux 1710 is one of the few models available with LED lines integrated into the folding arms. This lighting can be dimmed to achieve the preferred brightness level, creating a warm, ambient glow under the awning and adding an elegant touch to the space.
The Markilux 1710’s folding arms are tiered in front of the cover cassette, enabling more projection than width. This "stretch" variant is ideal for narrow spaces like balconies or terraces, as the crossed arms allow for an extended reach even with a smaller width.
To cover a greater width, you can pair two Markilux 1710 awnings, achieving a maximum width of 1390 cm. However, please note that the stretch version, which provides additional projection, is not available for coupled awnings.
To protect your Markilux 1710, it’s recommended to retract it during strong winds or rain, helping to prevent damage to the fabric and mechanism. In light rain or wind, the awning can remain extended, allowing dirt to wash off. However, avoid retracting the cover when it’s wet to maintain its quality.
For the Markilux 1710, a wall sealing profile is available to close the gap between the awning and the wall, providing a streamlined look and added protection.
The Markilux 1710 offers multiple operation options: servo manual operation, motorised, or radio-controlled motor. This gives you the flexibility to operate the awning manually, via a switch, remote control, app, or with weather-based automation. Additionally, the Markilux 1710 is compatible with smart home systems for seamless integration.
